If you have problems with your installation and problems with DraftSight also occur after a new installation, perform a "Clean Re-Installation" to remove any leftover settings from previous installations.

1. Please log in as administrator

2. Uninstall DraftSight

  • go to Windows Control Panel > Apps > Apps and Features

  • Click on DraftSight and select "Uninstall"

3. Deleting various folders

  • Navigate to the "%Appdata%\DraftSight" folder (note that this folder is a hidden folder and you have to enable its visibility in the windows explorer options)
  • Delete / Rename the DraftSight Folder: This step puts DraftSight in the state as if it were being installed on the machine for the first time. If you have already made adjustments to DraftSight, you should only rename the folder in order to have access to your settings at a later point in time
  • Go to the Dassault Systemes folder in the installation directory (by default this would be C:\Program Files)
  • Delete Draft Sight Folder
  • Go to the "C:\ProgramData\Dassault Systemes" folder
  • Delete the DaftSight folder. (Please note that this folder is a hidden folder and you have turned on its visibility in the explorer options)

4. Clean up the registry

Please make sure you do not change any other registry entries and folders, as this could lead to malfunction and error messages from other applications !!

  • delete the following registry key folders (open the registry editor “regedit”)
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Dassault Systemes > DraftSight
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > SWActivation
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>SolidWorks>Licenses>Serial Numbers>DraftSight
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Dassault Systems

Please make sure you do not change any other registry entries and folders, as this could lead to malfunction and error messages from other applications !!
